Mix and match. That's the order of the day when it comes to spring and summer fashion with a palette of colors that is defined by classic, versatile neutrals punctuated by splashes of invigorating brights. Now it's up to you to explore new and creative ways to combine these colors. Playing a key role this season are variations on popular colors such as energizing red, cool, waterborne blue and eco-friendly green. "The spring '08 color palette perfectly reflects the cheerfulness of the season," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "Stabilizing neutrals combined with pops of brighter colors to create unique, distinctive looks are the basis for a great spring and summer wardrobe."

Pantone, the color research and information center, has released its list of the top 10 colors for spring and summer 2008:
Golden olive
Spring crocus
Rococo red
Pink mist
Croissant
Freesia
Cantaloupe
Daiquiri green
Snorkel blue
Silver gray

It's all about making a statement! The season is characterized by bold, vivid colors and patterns that are accented with dramatic accessories. Most popular are floral dresses and patterned pants. Look for shoes that will stand out in a crowd in bright yellow, red and blue, as well as animal prints and florals. Oversized, bejeweled belts, bold bangles and clutch purses will finish the look.

But no matter what the designers are showing, you should buy clothes in colors that look good on you. Consider your personal palette: the color of your eyes, hair and skin tone. Find the colors that make your eyes twinkle and give your skin a natural glow. According to ColorConnections.com, your best colors will not only make you excited about how you look, but also make you look healthy and young. And that is bound to get you compliments!
