Figure Fixers: Tops and Tees for every body shape

With warm months the dilemma arrives: what tops and tees should I or can I wear? Because not all body are flattered by the same type of garment, here's a quick guide to what will look the best on you for a laid-back summery style.

Tops to hide untoned arms:
untoned arms are not a crime, ladies, but we do understand not every one wants to have the upper part of their arms on show. A quick, stylish solution is to wear 3/4 sleeves. They still look summery but they are also very chic.
Fling Shrug in Pumpkin
Fling Shrug
The Ya-Ya Fling Shrug in Pumpkin is absolutely adorable! This pumpkin colored shrug has 3/4 sleeves and hook and eye closure. Something this cute should not be passed up! This Ya-Ya shrug would be perfect layered over a cute little cami or over a summer dress to hide those arms you do not want on show.

3/4 Sleeve Knit Top in Lunar
3/4 Sleeve Knit Top
Catherine Malandrino successfully weaves together the energy of Manhattan and the romance of Paris! This is clearly seen in the soft elegance of the 3/4 Sleeve Knit Top in lunar. This feminine piece features a gorgeous, sheer patterned knit, an empire waist, and 3/4 sleeves.

Tops to emphasize a small bust:
Create curves adding interest to the bust chest area. You can wear V cuts, bright colors, strategic ruffles. All will play in favor of a sexier figure.

Flirty and glam all rolled into one. Double shoulder straps reveal a lacey underlining. Metallic ribbon trim at the waist is accentuated by a row of florets. Ruffled trim along the hem with lacey lining peaking through.

Tops to hide a tummy:
A round tummy does not get along too well with clinging fabrics or short cuts. Opt for a more easy-breezy tunic top, or an empire-waist cut. Both will work in ingenious ways hiding your middle section and flatgtering your apple body type.
Floral Tie Neck Halter Top

Look perfectly sweet in our pink floral blouse! Detailed with red, pink and green floral print. Buttons down the front. Ties at the neck. Elastic banding on the back hem.

Multicolor Two Piece Top

We really love our two piece top in fiery pink, red and orange colors on a white background. Comes with a white tank underneath. Ties at the waist. Three button and loop closure in the back. Ruffle detail on the sleeves.

Tops to minimize a big chest:
When you are blessed with a big pair or breasts, one thing to remember is to separate the chest and the breast areas, to avoid the big blur effect that shapeless tops create on you. Go for shapelier tops in stretchy fabrics or empire-waist structured tops with a V-cut, to define the contours of your upper body. Also remember to avoid spaghetti straps, and go for larger straps instead, that will balance you out.
WRAP EMPIRE TUNIC
WRAP EMPIRE TUNIC
Sweet flutter sleeves, soft grecian shirring and a flirty hemline all make this tunic texturally charming; the fun doesn’t stop there – be sure to check out the details in the back! And please click on the zoom to see all of the charming details throughout: shirring sewn through with elastic, baby ruffles and soft raw edges. The soft jersey fabric is stretchy and moves with fluidity at the hem while the longer length prevents any unwanted peek shows.

The 4 Most Flattering Clothing Colors

photo © Decor8
There are four colors that look fabulous on every woman no matter her skin tone or hair color. They are eggplant, true red, Indian teal and mellow rose.

That's the word from Leatrice Eiseman, author of "The Color Answer Book" and director of the Pantone Color Institute, who tells Real Simple magazine that these four colors fall into the middle of the color spectrum, meaning they are not too cool or too warm.

Eggplant
While there are dozens of shades of purple, this one is "the perfect purple," according to Eiseman. Like black, dark brown or navy, it's very versatile but more interesting than these colors and should be a wardrobe staple.

True Red
Dare to be a lady in red! Wearing this bold color makes everyone in the room look at you. New York City makeup artist Sonia Kashuk told Real Simple that it flatters everyone because it "resides in the center of the color spectrum, in between a cool, cherry red and a warm, orangey tomato red."

Indian Teal
This shade of teal is the exact opposite of pink. Remember, opposite colors look beautiful together. (Think red and green.) So when women wear teal, it enhances the healthy flush of the skin. Teal can be worn year round, making it more versatile than lighter, more summery shades of turquoise. It also pairs beautifully with black and brown.

Mellow Rose
More sophisticated than bubble-gum pink, mellow rose is that wonderful shade between light pink and peach. Kashuk says it's more of a neutral color than it is a pastel and highlights skin tone's natural flush so it almost appears to make you glow when you wear it. (P.S. It's a great lipstick color, too!)

Figure fixers: large bust

If you worry too much about your big boobs, the solution is: set them free! (not literally).
If your chest is large, instead of hiding them under layers of sweaters, let them show the right way. Let the “girls” out and always wear shirts, sweaters, and jackets that shape in the waist.
Shapeless tops just make you and your chest look bigger.

Figure fixers: large thighs

If your thighs are the largest part of your leg, the solution is: balance out.
Go straight and avoid the narrow. Choose pants that fall straight from the widest point of your thighs or go for boot-cut style pants. Avoid pants that taper at the hem.

Figure fixers: derriere

If your issue is a big derriere, the solution is: Go with the flow.
Have some extra curve in your lower back? Choose a fit and flare skirt style that counterbalances the fullness of your backside while embracing your curvacious curves. Straight skirts on the contrary just make your butt look boxy and wide.

If your issue is the tummy, the solution is: Get in Control.
Want to hide that tummy?
Choose a top with ruching or gathers over the middle area. No one will be able to tell if it is your tummy or the shirt.
Plus, get some control over your tummy and contain it with shirts with shape and structure.
